3 Ways to Build a Loyal Customer Base

Getting new customers to order from you is important, but having those customers continue to order from you over and over again is a critical part of growing your business. Here are 3 things you can do to turn a new customer into a loyal customer:

1. Write a Handwritten Thank You Card

Include a handwritten note in your customer's order thanking them for ordering from you. Even if it's a short note, customers appreciate you taking the time and they get excited to hear from you!

Things you can include in your note:

  • The customer's name and your name

  • Request their feedback and encourage them to leave a review!

  • Offer a discount for their next order from you (create one here)

  • Mention something specific about what they ordered

  • Explain why their order means so much to you

2. Include a Complimentary Treat/Item

Including a complimentary dessert, side, or snack sample in your customer's order is such a delightful surprise for customers and is a great way to introduce them to other items on your menu.

Items you can include:

  • A small candy from your culture's cuisine

  • A dessert you prepare

  • A sample size snack you prepare

Note: Be sure to include a label on whatever you add in case the customer has dietary preferences

3. Take Action on Customer Feedback

Stay up-to-date on your reviews and frequently read through your customers' feedback, so you can take it into consideration when preparing those dishes again. Find customer reviews in the "My Ratings" page of your Shef Dashboard.

Tip: stay engaged with your customers by messaging each one that leaves a review through your dashboard!
