Printing Your Order Labels
Updated over a week ago

This article explains how to print out food container and bag labels for any of your orders. For information on how to pack your orders in delivery bags, view our article on packing your orders.

You will need access to a regular home printer to print your order labels before each delivery day. You will download your order labels in a PDF, directly from the "My Orders" page of your Shef Dashboard. These labels are compatible with regular home printers - you do not need a special label printer. Something like an inkjet or laser printer that fits standard sheets of paper works great.

We highly recommend testing the process of printing your labels before your first delivery day. Depending on your printer, you may need to experiment with your printer settings to make the labels fit correctly.

Printing labels with your printer at home

  1. Remove any paper from your printer and insert your Avery label sheets. Double check your printer to see whether you need to place the stickers facing up or down.

  2. Open the My Orders page of your Shef Dashboard.

  3. Use the drop down to choose 'Inkjet or Laser Printer'.

  4. Click the red button to 'Generate Document'.

  5. Click the red button again to 'Download all Labels'.

  6. Open the downloaded file and select 'File' and 'Print'.

Instructions for printing test labels

  1. Download sample labels to test on your home printer here.

  2. Open the downloaded file and select 'File', then 'Print'.

  3. Test one page at a time. Depending on your printer, you may need to change your print settings to make the labels fit correctly. See here for more information.

  4. If you are using an HP brand printer, some shefs have had success with changing their paper settings to A4 size paper (instead of 'US Letter').

  5. If you are printing from a Google Chrome window, choose a custom scale and try 101 first to see if that scale works for you. Scale 99, 100, 104 may also work for you.

  6. If you are experiencing issues with printing, the Avery website has a lot of helpful information as well.
