Step 1: Create a Canva account
Note: If you already have a Canva account, you can skip this step!
All of the marketing design templates below are in Canva: an easy-to-use platform for creating graphics & designs. Create your account here: https://www.canva.com/ by clicking the “Sign Up” button.
Step 2: Pick your template
We’ve created a variety of different marketing design templates for you! Choose one to begin:
Click “Use template”
Sign in, if you’re not already
You now have your own version of the marketing material to edit & play around with! Any edits you make won’t be reflected on the original design template.
Lastly, name your design, so you can find it again later!
Step 3: Gather what you need
Follow the instructions below to create QR codes, download photos, and more:
Find Your Give-get Referral Code/Link
To copy your give-get referral link, click “Share my referral link”
To copy your give-get referral code, click “Copy my referral code”
Create a QR Code
Now that you have your give-get referral link handy, go to https://www.qr-code-generator.com/
It is a free platform that lets you create & download QR codes
Note: because it’s free, you won’t be able to track scans/visits to your link
Paste your link into the URL field
Customize your QR code
You can change the frame, shape, and color (optional)
To change it to different Shef colors, copy/paste these color codes:
Shef Red: #ec2044
Shef Dark Blue: #0c4f60
Shef Dark Green: #003d32
Shef Plum: #9e1c4c
Click the “Download” button and wait
Once it’s ready, it should appear in your Downloads folder
Download Your Profile Photo
Simply click & drag your profile phoot your desktop OR tap “Control + Click” on your keyboard
Click “Save image as” to save it to your computer desktop or downloads folder
Download Your Dish Photos
Go to the “My Menu” section of your Shef Dashboard
Simply click & drag your selected dish photos to your desktop OR click into each dish photo and tap “Control + Click” on your keyboard
Click “Save image as” to save it to your computer desktop or downloads folder for each
Step 4: Edit your template
Edit the relevant fields needed to personalize your design
Text Fields (E.g., Your name, Cuisine, Dish names, Promo + Give-Get Referral Code)
Click into the text box
Change the text to show your information by typing it directly into the field
Re-read everything on the design to ensure your information is correct!
Photos (E.g., Profile photo, Dish photos, and QR Codes)
Upload the photo into Canva by dragging it from your desktop or downloads folder and dropping it right into the Canva platform
Now that it’s uploaded, drag it from the “Uploads” tab into your design (where the original photo is located)
The design should automatically swap it out with your new photo
Make sure it’s centered, and that everything important on the photo is visible, etc.
🚨 If you replaced a QR code, test it out using your phone to make sure the link is correct
Step 5: Download, Share, or Print
Find & click the “Share” button in the upper-right corner
Click “Download”
Select the settings
File Type
For digital use: JPG or PNG
For print use: PDF Print
Size
You can leave it at the default. However, if it looks blurry when you use it, increase the size
Select Pages
Select the individual pages of the design template you’d like to download. Some templates have a front & back so make sure to double check!
Click the “Download” button and wait for it in your Downloads folder
Note: You can also purchase prints from Canva if you choose to! We encourage researching the cheapest print option for what you’re looking for. Some other options include FedEx, VistaPrint, MOO, etc.
Step 6: Share, Post, & Hand them out! 🎉
