You are able to choose what days you want to be available for fulfilling orders to your customers, and can also choose what days you want each dish on your menu to be available for order. This is helpful if you want to offer different dishes on different days of the week. Maybe you have a dish that takes longer to prepare and you only want customers to be able to order it on weekends, for example.

Shef availability refers to the days that your menu will be available to customers. These are the days that your orders will be delivered to your customers. To set your availability, go to your Shef dashboard and click on "My Availability" from the list of options.

You can set 3 types of shef availability:

  • Unavailability: This is where you can set a date range for when you are taking time off, like scheduling a vacation.

  • Ongoing Availability: This is best method for setting your schedule of when you want to be available for fulfilling orders. You simply choose the days of the week you will be consistently available and click "Save" at the bottom of the page.

  • Availability for specific days: If you want to select specific dates of the month to be available, you can click the individual days of the month when you are able to fulfill orders. Don't forget to save your changes when making any edits!

Dish availability refers to the specific days that an individual dish from your menu is available. It is your choice if you'd like to make a dish available every day that you cook (in that case, you can simply check off every day of the week), or only certain days of the week. If you want to make a dish available for only certain days of the week, you should select/add a checkmark on those specific days and uncheck the days you want the item to be unavailable. Keep in mind, even if you make a dish available every day of the week, it will only show to customers as being available for order on the days you have chosen to be available on your Shef availability calendar.

Red check marks mean the dish is available on that day. An X means the dish is not available on that day.

In the example below, "Beef and Veggie Stew" and "Cabbage and Bean Stew" are unavailable on Mondays, but available every other day of the week. "Creamy Chicken Stew" is available every day. "Balsamic Honey Roasted Carrots" is unavailable on Mondays and Wednesdays, but available every other day.
