Returning Shef Delivery Bags and Ice Packs:

Our shef bags and ice packs are meant to be reused, and we will pick them up from you when your new order is dropped off!

If you would like to return your insulated delivery bags to recycle or reuse them, check how our delivery bag pickup program works in your area below:

Bay Area

  • We collect bags with every delivery in most of the Bay Area. Hand any bags you've collected to the driver when your next order is delivered, or leave them outside your door on your next delivery day so your driver knows to take them!

New York

  • The recycling process in New York differs depending on where you live. We collect used bags and ice packs with every delivery in most zip codes outside of Manhattan.

    • Manhattan residents: We collect bags and ice packs only on the first Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday of every month in Manhattan. Simply place an order for delivery on one of these dates, and hand any bags and reusable ice packs you've collected to the delivery driver.

    • Everyone else: Hand any bags and reusable ice packs you've collected to the driver when your next order is delivered, or leave them outside your door on your next delivery day so your driver knows to take them!

Chicago

  • We're currently only picking up bags for orders being delivered on Tuesdays. To ensure that the driver picks up the bags, please leave them outside your door on Tuesdays before your order is delivered.

Seattle

  • We collect bags with every delivery. Hand any bags you’ve collected to the driver when your next order is delivered, or leave them outside your door on your next delivery day.

Los Angeles

  • We’re currently only picking up bags for orders being delivered on Thursdays. To ensure that the driver picks up the bags, please leave them outside your door on Thursdays before your order is delivered.

Recyclable Food Containers:

All of the food containers that shefs use are recyclable. However, some might not be microwave-safe, so we recommend checking the container before microwaving. Please feel free to reuse or recycle them once washed, as containers cannot be returned.
