If you experience a payment error, you will need to update your payment information. To do so, navigate to "Payment Method" within the menu to the left of your screen, or click on this link to be taken there directly: https://shef.com/account/payment-methods
To navigate, open the Shef app or website, and use the three-line menu in the upper left corner to access Payment Methods.
Important: Update your payment method at least three days before your delivery date by 3:00 PM to avoid order cancellations.
Removing a Saved Payment Method
To remove a saved payment method:
Go to Payment Methods in your account menu.
Select the card you wish to remove.
Click Remove. Note: You cannot remove a card linked to an active subscription unless another valid payment method is added or the subscription is canceled.
Handling Active Subscriptions
If your payment method is linked to an active subscription:
Add a new card and set it as the default payment method.
Once a new card is added, you can remove the old card.
If you need to change the card for your Weekly Shef Service subscription, cancel the current subscription and re-register with the updated payment information.
Next, choose Add a card, update your information, then select the box to “Make default for Weekly Shef Service” before clicking the big red “Add Card” button.
Troubleshooting Payment Issues
Old Cards Still Appear: If an old card remains visible after cancellation, it will not be charged once a new payment method is set as default. The system may take time to update.
Failed Payments: If a payment fails, check with your bank for authorization issues or update your payment method before the cutoff time (three days before delivery by 3:00 PM).
Reprocessing Payments: Orders canceled due to payment issues cannot be reinstated after the cutoff time.
